Girl's Night Out

Last night Kirsten, Jenny and I needed some girl time. Shadd was having poker at our house and mom and dad had the girls so off we went! We went to Buca di Beppo and had a great dinner and awesome dessert. We talked about everything and eventually were kicked out in a round about way.
One of our conversations was about Matt, Liz and Madeline. Alicia started me on his blog and now I am hooked!!!! Kirsten and Jenny keep up with his adventures too. Anyway, he goes out to eat a lot and always takes some really cool pictures. I had my little camera and tried to think of what Matt would take a picture of. I wish I had my good camera but I didn't want to look like a goob.
After we left there, we went to a coffee shop on Bardstown Road and did some people watching outside. Always someone interesting to see!!! It was a lot of fun!!! Until the next time girls!

Tuesday night Baylee had to miss gymnastics because she had her Kindergarten open house. Bethany went ahead to gymnastics with Nana and Pops. Baylee was really sad to not be able to go and when we got home, she parked herself out on the sidewalk with a magazine and waited for them to return. It cracked me up!!!

class of '88

One of the things that I enjoy about being a member of our high school alumni association is working the class reunions each summer. Whether it's a 50th or a 10th reunion it's always fun seeing everyone all dressed up and ready to impress. Anyway, last night I worked the class of '88 reunion. I knew quite a few of the graduates so it was fun to see how everyone had changed.

Today Baylee had another gymnastics performance. It was sunny but very hot!! The mats were like a frying pan. Despite the heat the girls did very well!! Baylee has learned so much this year! We are very proud of her!

Fun weekend away

We headed north last weekend for Shadd's 20th class reunion. Wow are you old babe?!!! Just kidding...I'm not too far behind! Anyway, we were able to visit with Shadd's family while we were there. It was so nice to see everyone and the girls love playing with their cousins. Thanks Grandma for watching the girls for us. They had a ball.

First day of Kindergarten

Wow! My big girl is off to Kindergarten! It was a very exciting morning and I loved taking Baylee to her first day of school. She was a little nervous but did very well. As soon as she saw a friend she was ready to go. I lingered but she was already having fun and just waved goodbye. You know, day to day life sometimes seems long and often stressful but as I look back over the last almost six years, it went by way too fast. The sleepness nights, ear infections, temper tantrums, first smiles, first words, etc. And here I am this morning sending my baby off to school. I know all of this may sound very corny but it was such a bittersweet day. She looked so big and ready for this day. I held it together until I got into the car. She was smiling and laughing when I left so that was helpful. Anyway, another milestone passed and we made it! When Shadd picked her up from school she asked him if she could go back again tomorrow. She is ready and so I guess I will be too!

Saturday we went to the Stewart's to celebrate Sadie's birthday. She was sleepy when we got there but when she woke up she had lots of fun!

Yum! Yum! Bethany loved her cupcake!! Wow...2 birthday parties in a week that she could eat the cupcakes too! Unfortunately Bethany and and Sadie are peanut allergy buddies!

Before our Friday night camping adventure Shadd helped me get my pictures ready to take to the fair. I know I won't win anything but it has been fun preparing for it! Thanks Jenny and Kirsten for encouraging me to enter! If you get to the fair next weekend you'll have to look for them!

Friday night we decided to do a little camping in the back yard. Now if you have read our blog in the past, you know I am not too sure about the whole camping thing! Anyway, we had a picnic outside and then piled into the tent to sleep. Baylee and daddy were really excited. The jury was still out for Bethany and me. I did fall asleep but awoke to Shadd's loud snore which I imagined was some sort of animal when I woke up. So then as I listened to everyone snore I heard my bed calling. So I picked up Bethany and we finished the night out inside. I know...I'm a party pooper. I told Shadd I'm ready to go camping again but next time on the campsite where I can't chicken out and come inside!

Thursday I needed to get a few things done in my classroom so the girls were excited to go "help". When mommy is a preschool teacher it can be lots of fun to go to work with her! It was hard to get them to leave!

Riley celebrated her birthday last week at gymnastics. Bethany is in her class and Baylee is on her sister Chloe's team. Their mom is the sweetest! She actually called us before the party and asked what Bethany could have so she could eat too(Because of the peanut allergy)! Bethany was so excited to get to eat a cupcake with everyone!
