Baby fix

Today I went with mom and dad to meet Landon, Alex and Sunshine's new bundle of joy

The happy family

Alex was always the little brother I never had. I remember dragging him around the house and he ended up with a rug burn on his nose. I also remember locking him in a closet. It was all cousinly love and I really wasn't that mean, I was was just seeing what it would be like to have a brother. Sorry Alex for all the harrassment as kids. Anyway, I never imagined him grown up with a family of his own but here he is with a beautiful wife and amazing little boy. Alex, I love you and I'm so proud of you!

Is he the cutest or what?

My flowers have grown like crazy this summer. I think they might take over the sidewalk soon!

When I returned from my baby fix with Landon my family was outside having lots of water fun!!!

1st annual euchre kids summer bash

Today we had our 1st annual summer kids party for our Euchre club. It was kind of a birthday celebration for all the kids throughout the year!
We have eight couples who play each month and we were joined today by several other close families as well. I think we ended up having around 19 kiddos to enjoy the fun. The Millers were nice enough to host the party. Thanks guys...we had such a great time!!

We had three ponies come to give rides and a show!

Baylee and Bethany would have stayed on the ponies all day if they could have!

I know they are mine and I am a little partial, but the girls made mighty cute cowgirls!

The Mutchlers brought the really cool water slide. Baylee went down it so much I think she made a path!

Is he cute with the hat or what?

This just reminded me of ants marching. The guys were returning the tent to the next door neighbors who were preparing for a party tomorrow

Anniversary dinner

Thursday we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I just can't believe it had already been that long! My how things have changed in that time. Anyway, it was very low key. Each year I fix Shadd his favorite dinner on our wedding china and use our good silverware. I also had plenty of extra napkins with our names and wedding date so I always get those out too. Just a way for us to say we do use our china at least once a year. Otherwise they would stay in the hutch. The girls got a kick out of our silly napkins and talk of our wedding. I didn't make Shadd endure the wedding video. It is hard to watch since his dad has passed along with many other loved ones. We miss them dearly and they are all in our thoughts.
Happy Anniversary honey! I love you!

Janelle and Alicia, I am really going to have to get self-portrait lessons. I am really bad!

Photo gallery link

So back to the photography thing...
I have always hated having pictures taken of me my whole life but somewhere along the way I developed a love of taking them of others. In the past few years it has even become somewhat of an obsession. I am always looking for the best picture of people and objects. My children have endured so many pictures that they are completely tired of posing and I can't say that I blame them because as I said I hate it too! So anyway, the more pictures I took the more I loved it and to my surprise others started taking notice. That was the best compliment I could ever have! I have now been asked a few times to take pictures of friends' babies and they have been made into their announcements. Again I was so flattered that they thought that much of my pictures. I have not yet had any formal training but I would really like to very soon. It is on the list! So anyway, after I would finish taking the pictures for friends, they would always want to pay me. It was hard for me to charge them so I found a happy medium which is why I am boring you with all of this. I started a pro gallery with Shutterfly. Now when I take pictures for others I load them to my gallery and they can order them through Shutterfly. I set the prices and Shutterfly takes care of the rest(with them taking a commission of course). This takes the pressure off me and then my friends don't have to feel obligated to buy anything or tell me they were not happy with the photos. So below is a link to one of my galleries that has a variety of the photos I have taken. Please remember that this is a hobby that I love and not a profession so they are not professional. I hope to continue to take more for friends and family in the future. I am so grateful for the encouragement I have received from my friends and family. It fuels my passion for the hobby!

My love of flowers and photography

My Rose of Sharon and some of my Lillies were blooming this week so we had to get a few pictures. Flowers are one of the things in this world(behind my family and loved ones of course) that I love dearly. I know deep inside I am a 90-year-old woman trapped in a 30-something body to love these sorts of things! Anyway, my favorite time of the day in the summer is early(getting later each day I am home) morning when I go out and water all of my flowers. It is the most peaceful time of the day. I just love it! Then when I see a beautiful bloom I have to grab the camera of course! This summer I entered a few of my pictures in the Ky state fair. We'll see what happens. It will be fun nonetheless. On that note...soon to come on the the blog is my latest photography adventure!

hot day at the zoo

So I'm still trying to catch up with blogging. I seem to not be able to keep up with the mass number of pictures I take each week. Anyway, these are some from our trip to the zoo with Nana. It was a hot day but we had lots of fun! Thanks for going with us Nana!!

Happy Birthday Nana and Pops

Birthdays in our family never stand alone so we often celebrate together. Last weekend we celebrated Nana and Pops' birthdays. Their birthdays are 5 years and one day apart. Happy Birthday Nana and Pops!!! We love you very much!

Our fun find!

We came back from our bike ride the other night to find a friend waiting in the grass! Daddy and the girls loved it. Mommy not so much!!!

This was our find. He was actually much bigger than this picture makes him look(or so it seemed to me at the time!)

Nice!

family pics

Recently we had some family pictures taken. These were a few of them. I love the ones of the girls together, especially the first two. Our scanner died so I am using mom's and I don't know that I did the best job. Please excuse any that are not centered.
