Indy fun

We had a really good time at the Indianapolis Zoo. It was a beautiful day. Not too hot and not too cool. There were LOTS of people there. We all had a great time!

The dolphin show

One of our favorite things was the butterfly exhibit. It was so neat! The girls did not want to leave. I found a few photo opportunities too!

lots of fun at the hotel pool!

This was so cool!

The girls loved the Curious George room

Taxi drivers
This was a replica of Ryan White's house. Inside was a replica of his bedroom as it was. When we went in, there was a woman sitting on a bench talking to someone else and she looked really familiar to me. I finally went over and talked to her. It was Ryan White's mom. She was there for a special performance of the story of Ryan. So I talked to her for a few minutes and she told me that when she was struggling with what to do with his room, a friend suggested that she call the museums. Anyway, after they came and looked at the room, they told her they could use all of it. She said it is nice to still be able to come see it as it was and the advantage is that she doesn't have to clean it. :) I think this was a highlight of the trip for me. She and Ryan were such a force in the battle to find treatments for HIV and AIDS and to promote fair treatment of those affected. I am so glad I was able to meet her!

This entire exhibit was based around three young people who made a difference. My other favorite was Anne Frank. I just read the book this spring so it was fresh in my mind. I think I'm getting old enjoying these things now! And of course the girls were bored to tears!!!!!

Father's day

The girls celebrated Father's day quietly at home with daddy in the morning and then we visited Pops and Nana in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day. We are lucky to have two of the best dads in the world. Also on this day we always remember Grandpa Jon(daddy's dad). He was an amazing man who is truly missed each day but especially remembered today.

Mommy do we have to pose one more time????????

Pops and his girls

We all checked out Pop's garden. Looks good, we're looking forward to some corn! Yummy!!

Surprise visitors

Saturday we had some surprise visitors. Karla, Taylor and Tanner were heading back home to northern Indiana from Holiday world and stopped by for a few minutes to visit! The girls absolutely adore their cousins and were very excited to see them. We just wish the visit had been longer!

Sisterly love

The girls are really starting to become close buddies...most of the time. This was an evening of good old sisterly love!

Busy week

This week began a new gymnastics team for Baylee, Bethany's first try at gymnastics, and tennis for both girls. It was interesting watching Bethany out there giving it a try. I won't say that she was completely focused...or even partially. She had her own agenda! She hasn't quite mastered staying in line and taking turns. Oh the second child syndrome!

Notice the teacher has her by the racket to keep her in place. She was more interested in getting balls from the ball hopper and throwing them!
Wow, all that ball chasing wears me out!

Baylee hitting a good shot!

Bethany did seem to like gymnastics a little bit better. She loved the obstacle course

We're ready!!!

Blooming Poppies

Every year we go and try to get some good pictures at a house down the street from mom and dad. They definitely have a green thumb with all their flowers but when the poppies are in full bloom it is an amazing sight. I didn't get exactly the shots I was looking for but here are a few!

I MADE IT!!!!

Okay so I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone this weekend. The Stewart's asked us to go camping with them. Shadd and the girls were really excited. As I had never camped before I was a little unsure! With my germ issue along with my love of being cozy, comfy and safe, it was quite a stretch for me. But I decided it was a test for me and a great chance for family memories so I agreed. This first time we decided to just try one night(good idea). The weather was beautiful(until bedtime of course) and we had good food and conversation. The boys and the kiddos went fishing. Shadd was excited to have caught the only fish. We ate smores and enjoyed the campfire too. It was all really nice. My biggest issue(back to the germ thing) was the shared bathroom. Not a good situation for the germaphobe(sp?)! Especially when the girls had to make many trips and of course had to touch everything! Sarah suggested maybe next time they start some sort of drip for me before we leave so that this wouldn't bother me! Anyway, overall it was a really nice time and the answer is.................................................yes I will go again. I told Shadd there will be some shopping beforehand to stock up on a few more camping neccessities that we were lacking. Thanks guys for inviting us and putting up with my nerves! Until next time!

This was the view from our tent. I did find lots of photo opportunities which I was really excited about. I didn't have my best camera but I still got some pretty good ones.
