The celebration continues...

Six years ago Shadd received the best birthday gift he could ever imagine...and she is the gift that keeps on giving! Baylee thinks it is so neat to share her birthday with her daddy. She laughs when he talks about all the cakes he has had since her arrival...Barney, Strawberry Shortcake, High School Musical, etc. It melts my heart to see them share their day together.
Nana and Pops came over to celebrate with us this afternoon. They brought Baylee a Hannah Montana camera. She has been wanting a camera for over a year now(I can't imagine where she would develop a love for taking pictures) and we decided to give it a shot. She loves it! She has been running around looking for anything to shoot at! She also opened presents from Grndma Clarke and Uncle Sheamus, Karla, Taylor and Tanner who live out of town. She loved her HSM shirt and foam stickers from Grandma and has already made some new friends with her stuffed animal maker from Uncle Sheamus and family. Thank you everyone for thinking of her. It really means a lot! And thanks Nana and Pops for the camera, clothes and coming to celebrate with us. We love you all!

Hot day in the park!

Today I took a half day of work and went with my cousin Steve to see Senator Joe Biden in Warder Park. Steve got us really close(front row) and I was able to get my picture with him and talk with him for a second. It was a pretty neat experience. I stood with some really great people that serve our community!

One of his secret service men was positioned right in front of me. While he was very nice to look at, I felt like I was being "watched" the whole time! :)

Wind Storm 2008

Did we wake up in Kansas or what? Wow did we have wind Sunday! I kept waiting for the storm to follow but the skies were sunny and clear. It kept getting stronger and I called my husband who was finishing a round of golf(yes, he really was playing golf ) to tell him we were losing our fence. After all was said and done we were lucky and didn't have too much damage. A few of our fence panels went down but they were easy fixes and the all of our blades broke off of our outdoor fan. No big deal. We were without power for 12 hours but had it late Sunday night. My parents are still without power! Yikes!

This broke my heart. The day before my Begonias were huge and gorgeous. The wind ripped right through them and this is what was left.

Our neighbor's playset didn't fair so well

We spent a lot of time outside with neighbors Sunday night
Nana and Pops came over last night to charge up their phones and enjoy some electricity for a while. We have offered them a room but they decided to wait it out

Baylee misses Kindergarten so she was working in a workbook.

...more dress-up fun

Bethany came out Sunday with yet another mismatched outfit! She was "going on a trip". I especially loved the Elmo shoes!

She got into her fall clothes...just in time for Election season!

Fun in the sun

Today mom and I took the girls over to the riverfront. There was a lot of excitement with the mayor's city hike. We saw lots of bicycles everywhere and music to add to the fun! They even had a fire truck spraying water to cool off the bikers. Pretty neat. It was hot so the girls enjoyed playing around the water spouts. It's been a while since we have been there but next time we'll be more prepared. We finished with a picnic on our side of the river and watched the boats go by. It was nice and cool in the shade. Thanks Nana for going with us. We love girl time together!!!

I have no idea who this man was but he was having more fun than the kids!

Such sisterly love!
